a word to the wise:

If you’re trying to clean your old apartment, where your soon-to-be-ex-husband, and his friend, and your cat, have been living the lives of unfettered bachelors for nigh on eight months, “green” products will not be sufficient. I wish I could have taken a picture of that stove.

Just more free advice, from me to you.

  2. Agreed. Green products are not capable of killing the many terrors breeding on the surfaces of a bachelor pad.

  3. If you want green *and* effective, try filling a spray bottle with vinegar, adding about 10-15 drops each of tea tree oil and lavendar, and about 6 drops of oregano oil. Then add about 10 drops dish soap. It’ll cut through the toughest dirt, and it’ll clean that gunk off the stove, too. Use it in the shower with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to get the built up slime off the shower walls and in the tub.

I’ll admit that the oregano oil is a bit pricey, but since you need so little of it, it’ll last you a good long time.

  4. Also, oregano oil is anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-septic, etc. It’ll do a great job of disinfecting everything.
